Simple Pleasures

From MaryBishop:

Listing ten simple pleasures...

1. Walking on the beach

2. Reading

3. Watching the sunrise from the windows in my home office (I'll try to remember to take a picture some morning. It's awfully early to be remembering anything, though.)

4. Laughing with my friends

5. Visiting the Memphis Zoo

6. Watermelon

7. Flip-flops

8. Finding something I lost

9. Reading to Wally (a story for another day)

10. A good nap

I can think of at least ten more simple pleasures, but I'll save those for another post.

Tagging anyone who cares to play along...

Cammy

I'm with you on #6,7,8 -- finding something you thought you lost is an amazing feeling.

I tackled cleaning and tidying my top drawer and found twenty-five dollars neatly folded in a corner.

Holy smoly I am rich!

It felt like a prize or a reward or an unexpected windfall. I have held, many times, $25 in my hand, but not with the joy I did when I found!!!!! this money sitting in my top drawer.

Watermelon, when it's good, is better than any birthday cake..and flip flops with red toenails ...you gotta love it...which reminds me, time to repaint the nails and exfoliate the feet...warm weather is coming to CT soon, I hope.

Wow, Mary! That's a lovely windfall. I did the same a few months ago. I was cleaning out a drawer of my desk that's largely inaccessible due to its L-shape, and I found two bundles of 20 $1-bills. Took me forever to remember their source, but finally I recalled that I had placed them there after the neighborhood rummage sale last fall. I just put them right back where I found them, so that someday I'll "discover" them again, and won't I be happy?

Finding money that you lost is great...my mother used to use ten dollar bills as cookbook bookmarks...

She'd say: Wow, I'm so happy I decided to make a cherry pie as I found ten dollars in the cherry pie page of my cookbook.

Of course, she'd put it back in the same spot and next time she wanted to make a cherry pie, she'd be excited all over again. ;-)

Hmmm...I wonder if my mother does something similar. She collects cookbooks and has over 400 in the back hallway alone. I could be--I mean, she could be rich!
